Description

The primary objective of a Team Leader for AML Assurance in an AML Function is to ensure the organization's compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and regulations. This is achieved by leading thorough reviews and assessments of processes, transactions, and controls across the various business units to identify risks, improve compliance, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the AML framework. The role aims to prevent financial crimes such as money laundering, terrorism financing and proliferation financing,  ensure regulatory obligations are met, and protect the integrity and reputation of the institution.


High Level Key Responsibilities:

A Team Leader for AML Assurance in an AML Function, especially covering reviews of RHB Investment Bank Branches, Business Units, RHB Invetment Bank Regional Offices, and Quality Assurance:

  1. Lead AML Reviews: Plan, organize, and execute AML assurance reviews across branches, business units, and the regional office to ensure adherence to AML policies and regulatory requirements.

  2. Risk Assessment and Monitoring: Identify and assess potential risks related to money laundering activities, and monitor the effectiveness of AML controls to mitigate these risks.

  3. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Keep updated with regulatory changes and ensure all reviewed areas are compliant with AML laws, guidelines, and internal policies.

  4. Develop and Implement Corrective Actions: Recommend and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to address gaps or deficiencies found during AML reviews.

  5. Supervise and Mentor Team Members: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members to ensure high-quality delivery of AML reviews and assurance activities.

  6. Report Findings to Senior Management: Prepare and present comprehensive reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommended actions.

  7. Conduct Quality Assurance: Oversee and enhance the quality assurance process to ensure AML controls and practices meet high standards of effectiveness and consistency.

  8. Collaborate with Other Departments: Work closely with various business units, compliance teams, and senior management to ensure alignment on AML compliance and risk management strategies.

  9. Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance the AML function by identifying emerging risks, recommending process improvements, and staying current with industry best practices.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree - Bachelor or Master’s Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline.
  • At minimum, has more than 8 years experience in conducting AML Review and QA (advantage for those who has experience in Investment Banking field)
