Description

Primary Objective:

Provide strategic support to the Group Chief Sustainability Officer in driving the overall Sustainability strategy (which includes climate / de-carbonization strategy) and roadmap, as well as defining the Group’s Sustainability objectives and goals, working in collaboration with the SBGs/SFGs as well as the respective Business / Practice Councils and the Group Climate Action Project Steering Committee Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Pillar 1

To undertake and oversee the execution of the Sustainability and Climate Strategy, Policy and Framework Setting as well as Enterprise Data Management. These will involve the following:

 

  1. Sustainability /Climate Strategy & Execution 
  2. Sustainability Policy, Framework and Guidelines
  3. Target Setting, Performance Monitoring
  4. Strategic Partnerships and Alliances
  5. Sustainability / Climate enterprise data management
  6. Other Sustainability and climate related functions as determined by Management from time to time

 

Strategy Formulation

  • Provide strategic support to the GCSO in the development of the Group’s overall Sustainability and Climate Strategy / Roadmap , ensuring it aligns with the Group ‘s corporate strategy and business goals as well as domestic and global sustainability standards.
  • Drive the overall Sustainability strategy (which includes climate / de-carbonization strategy) and roadmap, working in collaboration with the SBGs/SFGs as well as the respective Business / Practice Councils and the Group Climate Action Project Steering Committee Practice.
  • Analyses ESG/climate trends, implications and development in FI’s business context; and if need be to reassess the Group’s Sustainability and climate-related strategy, key focus areas and KPIs towards ensuring that the Group’s business strategy, pillars and focus areas remain relevant
  • Act as Centre of Excellence on Sustainability and Climate related matters, providing the expertise, knowledge and resources to support and guide the SBs/SFGs on sustainability and climate related matters, which includes providing legal advice/ guidance, where required in consultation with Group Legal Division towards ensuring that the Group’s legal risk in being mitigated

 

 

Framework/Policy/Positioning/Charter

  • Work with the relevant SBGs/SFGs/ Climate Risk Management team / Sustainable Business Council and Practice Council in identifying, developing or setting of relevant ESG/Climate Policies/ Frameworks, Position statement and the implementation plan that supports the Policies / Frameworks / Charter
  • Work with the Group Procurement team on Group's sustainable supply chain strategy, which includes putting in place implementation plan and ensure effective operationalization of the plan
  • Facilitate adoption of Policies/ Framework/ Position statements within the Group’s existing Policies/ Frameworks and organize workshops, seminars, training programmes to educate employees and key stakeholders on application of Framework / Policies / Charter / Guidelines

 

Data Management

  • Responsible in developing data strategy, supported by policy, guidelines and process for collecting, managing, analyzing and reporting sustainability related data
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of sustainability metrics and analyses data to identify trends, areas for improvement as well as data driven insights in the formulation of sustainability and climate strategy.
  • Evaluate and assess tools and technology towards automation of data collation and ensuring accuracy of data captured

 

Target setting; Performance Management

  • Collaborate with the respective Business and Functional Leads to develop measurable target and metrics in support of the Group’s Sustainability strategy and Key Performance Indicators, track and monitor progress and achievements against approved KPIs (internal and publicly committed) and develop dashboard for purpose of update to the BODs, BSC and GSC.
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability Reporting & Disclosure team to prepare sustainability statement, reports and other disclosures required for key stakeholders, as and when required.

Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree - Environmental Management, Sustainable Development) is an added advantage.

- Certification – Sustainability (e.g. Sustainability Reporting, GRI, TCFD) as an added advantageMaster’s Degree in Sustainability as an added advantage


  • 5-7 years’ experience in sustainability reporting and related fields
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with strong knowledge in finance/ banking/ sustainable finance will be an added advantage
  • Sound understanding with Sustainability Reporting frameworks and standards (GRI, TCFD, Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, etc.)
  • Experienced in materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement exercises for the development of materiality matrix for Sustainability Reporting
  • Excellent ability to manage ESG and climate-related data and information for analysis and reporting purposes
  • Strong presentation deck and report development skills
  • Excellent communication skill: Written, Verbal and Presentation Skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with both external & internal parties
  • Strong project management skill
  • Exhibit sound judgment and professionalism
