Primary Objective: Responsible for managing several significant portfolios and specializing in Sukuk investment both Ringgit and non-Ringgit according to general house guidelines and makes full contribution to team strategy discussions. Provide input to overall investment policy, and also deliver guidance to one or more junior or trainee professionals while maintaining active relationships with clients via periodical meetings and presentations. Provide necessary supervision and sufficient training to managers down the line.
Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Management
• To lead and coach RHBAM and RHBIIAM fixed income team to ensure all working objectives and targets are met.
• Assist and support the CIO Fixed Income in key roles and tasks as back up and as part in the succession planning.
• Active engagement with clients to ensure good relationship in all areas required.
• Manage both Ringgit and Non-Ringgit Sukuk portfolios to meet each and individual fund’s and clients’ objective and target return.
• Drive the overall performance of Sukuk portfolio for all accounts under management with a commitment to outperform benchmarks and maintaining good market positioning for competitiveness relative to peers.
• Formulating effective portfolio strategy in terms of asset allocation, duration positioning and security selections in line with the clients’ mandates.
• Meet targeted return consistently while at all times in compliance to the stipulated investment parameters.
• Maintaining top quartile performance for retail funds for competitiveness and attract business interests.
• Performing the highest standard and quality services to clients. Ensure qood quality presentations on market and economic reviews and outlook. Provide updates on clients’ fund performance on regular basis
Advisory Role for Regional Team
• Advising the regional sukuk team (eg Indonesia) on portfolio management for sukuk, FX and currency hedging.
Preparation of Reports/Proposals
a) Internal Meetings
• Ensuring an effective report and proposal presentation to Investment Committee Meeting
b) Periodic Fund Reports
• Generating monthly, quarterly and annually retail funds’ Manager’s reports
c) Clients Servicing
• Generating quality and timely performance review reports to clients distributed and presented
d) Business Development
• Preparing new business proposal for new potential client mandate
• Generating presentation packs for new product launches for purpose of roadshows
